| People won't be upset if I skip out on those promised Christmas cards this year right?
I don't think I can finish them in time... Sorry about that. | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
| | Oh great! eRepublik is being raided by 4chan! They were unclear on who the exact perps are, but I am excited to be on the bad end of a raid as it happens for the first time ever. This will actually be great for my thesis. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |

| So tonight, I package up the cookies in too much saran wrap and tin foil, before shipping them out to good (????) boys and girls all over the place. Then I have to clean. XD
The recipes come courtesy of the following books, both of which I love and heartily recommend.
125 Cookies to Bake, Nibble, and Savor by Elinor Klivans. This book is great. I've never been disappointed with the results of the recipes. I think the shortbread chapter should proooobably cooked a little less than the recipes claim, so watch those carefully. But all in all, I highly recommend this. If anything, it's worth it just to read her weird stories about how she used to canoe for a mile to enjoy this cookie, or how she overheard a coworker being praised so she just HAD to get the recipe...and then make your own exaggerated stories. Hee hee!
Candy Making Basics by Evelyn Howe Fryatt. I bought this one after carefully perusing through countless books trying to find something with easy truffle recipes that didn't require a lot of exotic ingredients or loads of alcohol. I'm happy to report that the other recipes included are also amazing, and very easy to make. There's also pictures of every single recipe, and that's a real clincher for me. Give this one a go.
AND MOST OF ALL! I want to thank everyone who pitched in and bought me that blender/food processor a couple of years back, because it is a lifesaver in the kitchen. I love it to pieces, and it works beautifully. I hope all of you donators signed up! I think most of you did, I don't know who all pitched in because my memory is pretty poor, but THANK YOU! I love it so much, and it saved me so much time and energy. ♥

| The discussion paper is out and available here: http://www.ag.gov.au/gamesclassification
What is also available here is a form to send to the attorney generals office, giving your input on the matter.
I am about to fill out my simple form letter and ask you all to do the same.
Spread it around. We might actually get to do something about this. | comments: Leave a comment |
| IT'S THE LAST ONE! REJOICE YE MASSES! Okaaayyyy, notes. This one, as I found out halfway through making it, requires the dough to be refrigerated overnight, so keep that in mind. When it comes time to roll it out, the recipe tells you to flour generously. They ain't playin'. Do not wear black because you need to FLOUR THE HELL OUT OF EVERYTHING. You've been warned. On the up side, look at the ingredients! Healthiest cookies ever. They also taste amazing, from what I had of the dough scraps.

| Baking these will make your house smell awesome. Incentive enough. More than that, these just LOOK pretty, and it's really easy! Most bar cookies usually are, though.

| It's true. I bet my little brother Jordan will want it.
RECIPE NOTES! Don't grind up too much of the candy cane like I did. If the ground candy sits out for too long, it sticks together into a hard mass, foiling your evil plans. Also, do make sure the butter is at room temperature; I got impatient, and it didn't mix as well. Last note, sprinkle the ground candy cane immediately after each dipping, because the chocolate sets FAST. At least, the brand I used did, so hardly any of them have the candy cane topping like they should. That said, these are effing delicious.

| Cooling in the pan now. And when they say a large saucepan? They mean it. This thing kept overflowing in my large one, I had to switch to the stewpot.

| I thought my arm was gonna fall off for this one. X_X Still, now that it's finished, it looks really pretty! Plus you get to wrap these up in colored wrappers. JUST LIKE REAL CANDY!

| The rules are simple: go through the first entry of each month of this year and pick out the first sentence(s) from that. If not, then...do whatever else you can to make things interesting. Like choosing the last sentences. Or something. GO.
January: Another update made at kayceephoto. February: Taking a route off the interstate to get home. Eating lunch at a biergarten/grocery store in Wahlburg, a tiny German town just north of Georgetown. March: I got fed up at someone having stolen my Storm video on youtube and claiming it as theirs. April: Dear old friend crazy guy that I regret working with: May: celine- Hey, you. I was looking for you on AIM- I must've missed you or something. June: just started the shadow rising yesterday. And my handwriting on my palm is awful. July: Over $100 that I can't keep. Sadness. August: Is it worth putting my FTP back online? September: I'm taking part in the charity 24 video game marathon that will be streamed on October 17th. October: Damn the rain!!! Still going!!! November: Would you believe that I've got a spreadsheet for writing for NaNo again this year? December: Nowe shoves Urick into the canal. Urick says, 'Totally worth it! *sploosh*' Nowe calling over the edge. 'I HOPE YOU DROWN.' Urick says, 'ME TOO.'
--there are interesting things that pop up in this. That 'kayceephoto' update was the beginning of my fight with bronchitis at the beginning of the year. Feb's entry has to do with the really memorable trip I took back from Austin. March was when I uploaded all my old music videos to youtube (and got two taken down immediately. XD)
April is more to deal with a crappy relationship I had with someone on a translation project.
May- Scarby! June: God, I'm still reading that. D: July: Otakon prep.
August: Meh.
Sept: I'm glad this made it. I'm really did, because that was a really important thing for me this year. ExtraLife raised $170,565.20 total. October: State Fair!! Nov: I never did Nano.
December: I'm looking at you, reynardfox. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
